What Does “Pasture-Raised” Really Mean?

Most chicken labeled “free-range” or “organic” still comes from birds raised in crowded barns with limited outdoor access. Our chickens are truly pasture-raised—they live outdoors in mobile chicken coops so that we can move them daily on our chemical-free grass pasture.  This allows the chickens to forage for grass, insects, and seeds just like nature intended.

Moving the coops and portable fencing gives the chickens constant access to fresh forage and clean ground, which keeps them healthy.  The manure they leave behind improves the health of our farms' soil.  And that is the key to regenerative farming.  

We are regenerating the land using the power of chicken poop. 

In addition to what they find on pasture, our chickens are supplemented with certified organic, soy-free feed from New Country Organics.  We have chosen this feed company to feed all of our animals because their values align with ours.  The feed is always:
